Born in Michigan, Steve Darrow was raised in the San Francisco Bay area in California. He served his community for 31 years as a firefighter in Menlo Park, California, retiring with the rank of Captain.  Steve is an avid sportsman, having competed in Motorcycle Trials events for decades, as well as auto racing events including Formula Ford road racing.  Steve enjoys collecting, restoring and racing vintage automobiles, especially Model A’s from the 1929-1931 era and participates in several Hill Climb events annually.  Steve and Eve enjoy horse camping in the Colorado mountains and vintage cars in the summers, bird and fox hunting in the winters, and cattle ranching all year long.  They combined their cattle herds in 2013 and have been partners in life and love ever since.
